Traveldiary | Valencia

At the end of June, I went on a graduation trip with my best friend Louis (not my boyfriend for the record) to Valencia. We had a blast!

We stayed there for 5 days and literally saw everything the city had to offer.

Valencia has a great city with old history as well as great places to eat, drink and shop and as it's not located that far off the beach as well.

We had a hotel that was located on the Calle Collon which is big boulevard located around the old city. We did everything by foot as nothing was far from one another. The hotel was located in a old building but was restored really nicely. Our breakfast was included and had a wide choice range.

We also did some bicycling one day to the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències which are some very special impressive futuristic buildings. That day we also went to the biggest aquarium of Europe which was really cool and where we saw a lot of different fish and animals.

One day we went to the beach.

And on the last day we went to the Bioparc which is like a Zoo but with all sorts of African animals. We clearly couldn't get enough of the animals in Valencia.

A big plus in Valencia is the fact that food and rinks are so cheap. A bottle of wine of 8 euros on a restaurant?
In Belgium, we could only dream of that or it would be château migraine.

I think I love Valencia more than I did Barcelona as it's much smaller and just so cosy and everything is so close to each other.

Some addresses for food and drinks:
  •  La Taberna de la Reina
  • Cappucino
  • Marinetta Mia (Italian with great truffle pizza)
  • Café Infanta (Try out the local cocktail: Aqua di Valencia)
  • Jamon Jamon (Typical Valencian food)
  • Tyris On Tap
  • New Rolling Café
  • Gaspar (the best - three course menu for 15 euros and a bottle of wine for 12 euros)
  • Sorsi e Morsi (Italian)

If you go shopping, you have to keep in mind that the stores of Inditex (like Zara and Oyscho) are often cheaper than they are in Belgium. Also really go to Ale-Hop, you can practically find it on every corner of every street and it has really cheap cool stuff, great for souvenirs.
