Four make-up trends for this summer

I know summer vacay already started for a few weeks now but for all those girls out there that don't know how to do their make-up when they go out or go to a party, I'm writing this blog to remind you which four trends are in fashion this summer regarding make-up.
The summer summarized ☼

Imagine yourself. You are invited to this super cool summer party, all your friends are going, that hot guy you have been loving for over a year now is going to be there as well and you have found yourself this perfect outfit consisting out of a pretty satin and lace slip dress with an even cooler bomber jacket. So 2016!

BUT you don’t want to use your basic everyday make-up routine…

You want something new! You want to look prettier and better than ever! But you just don’t have any clue what to add or adjust to your look!

Well therefore, I’m writing this blog about the four make-up trends for this summer which you obviously have to keep into account for practically every occasion your have this summer!

So here we go!

Summer make-up trend I: FRESH COMPLEXION

In summer wearing too much foundation is often really hot and uncomfortable. Definitely when you start with the trends contouring and the new ‘baking’.

That’s why we are so lucky this summer that having a fresh tainted look is in fashion. This means wearing almost no make-up. If you do want to use something than use a concealer to cover dark spots and acne.

The products that I would suggest to get a fresh complexion and which I use myself are:
First Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Studio Fix in NC35
Second Swatch: Park Avenue Compact Powder in 01
Third Swatch: 2B Concealer-Corrector in 01 Pèche
Fourth Swatch: Nyx Wonder Stick Highlight and Contour in WS03 Deep Profond

Summer make-up trend II: SHARP EYEBROWS

This trend has been in fashion for a few seasons now, all thanks to Cara Delevigne and her amazing eyebrows, and this summer is no different.

So girls make sure to pluck your eyebrows often so that they are in the perfect shape and use some eyebrow color or shaper to finish them whenever you go out.

The products that I would suggest to get sharp eyebrows and which I use myself are:

First Swatch: Maybelline Browdrama Brow Mascara in Transparent
(obv you can't really see it here) and in Dark Brown
Second Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Fluidline Brow Gelcrème in True Brunette,
and I applied this with a And Other Stories Smudge Eye Brush
Third Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Veluxe Brow Liner in Deep Brunette
Fourth Swatch: Nyx Eyebrow Gel in EBG02 Chocolate
Fifth Swatch: Nyx Micro Brow Pencil in MBP07

Summer make-up trend III: TOUCH OF BLUE

Readers who have been reading my blog since the beginning, might know that I went from blue eyeshadow, to gold/brown eyeshadow to pink eyeshadow...
Well, seems like this summer I will have to go searching for that blue eyeshadow again!

We’re not talking about only blue eyeshadow but really are talking about everything blue. From blue eyeshadow to blue eyeliner to blue mascara.

We are certainly going to have the blues!

When you’re still a bit uncertain on the blue trend then try to use some light-blue and grey-blue eyeshadow colors that aren’t too obvious. You could also use a blue eyeliner around the edge of your eye or some blue mascara.

I don't have any blue mascara myself (yet) but if this blog made you think about buying one, I would suggest the Yves Saint Laurent Vinyl Couture in the electric blue color. Really pretty but really hard to be found!

The products that I would suggest and which I will be using myself are:

First Swatch: Urban Decay Naked Pallet 3 Creep
Second Swatch: Urban Decay Naked Pallet 3 Gunmetal
Third Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Tilt
Fourth Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Deep Froth
Fifth Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Knight Divine
(Mac Cosmetics colors applied with Mac Eyebrush 275E)
Sixth Swatch: Park Avenue Kajal/Köhl in 08 Light Blue
Seventh Swatch: Park Avenue Long-Lasting Eye Contour Liner in 04 Pastel Blue

Summer make-up trend IV: RED LIPS

This season means red lips all day, every day! Basic red or dark red? Mat or glossy lipstick?
It all doesn’t matter, as long as it’s red, it’s good!

I always love red lips but I love them more in winter because they just match better with dark colors. But as I think that lips are one of the most important parts when it comes to make-up, we just can't leave that trend out. And we all know that with red lips you can conquer the world.

Red lips in summer are most pretty when you don’t over-do the rest of your face. When you’re wearing red lips, you must make sure that all the attention goes to your red lips and that your lips seem as perfect as possible.

Red lips require smooth lips so it’s a good idea to scrub your lips at least once a week and try to keep them as hydrated as possible.

Then I would also suggest that when you use a red lipstick that you use it with a transparent lip pencil or one in the same colour as your lipstick so you can avoid that the lipstick sprouts.

The products that I would suggest for red lips and which I use myself are:

FIRST PICTURE
First Swatch: Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in Mary Jo K
Second Swatch: Kylie Cosmetics Lip Liner in Mary Jo K
Third Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in D For Danger
Fourth Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in Viva Glam A24
Fifth Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Lip Liner in Kiss Me Quick
Sixth Swatch: Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in Dark Side
Seventh Swatch: Mac Cosmetics in Media A55
Eighth Swatch (the one next to sixth and seventh): Mac Cosmetics in Diva Burgundy
SECOND PICTURE
Next to the red lipstick you can see a pink blush. This is the Mac Cosmetics Powder Blush in Desert Rose. When you wear a red lipstick, it's nice to wear a pink blush because it goes well together. Especially this color because it gives a natural blush on the cheek.

If you don't like all four trends together, you could always use one of these four trends and add them to your normal make-up routine. This is what I will be doing because I really like my normal make-up routine.
